Fender Guitars Fender guitars are the most widely used guitars in history. Founded in 1946, Fender Guitars have been a musical icon for over fifty years. Fender is responsible for the first commercially viable solidbody guitar, the first electric bass guitar, and countless amplifiers. As of today, the company's two primary guitars are the Telecastor and the Stratocastor (pictured far left). Fender guitars have been used by many famous guitarists including Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, Eric Clapton, Tom Delonge of Blink 182 (his signature guitar is pictured right, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bruce Springsteen, and many others. |

Gibson Guitars By the time Gibson began working on their first electric guitar, the company had a thirty-five year reputation to uphold. In 1936, Gibson made their first electric guitar, the ES-150, which was followed by the ES-5, the first three-pickup guitar. The "world famous" Les Paul (left) model was introduced in 1952 and was split into four families- the Junior, the Special, The Standard, and the Custom. In 1961, Gibson released the SG (right), which was the company's first double-cutaway guitar. In 1974, Gibson established "Gibson USA," a plant in Nashville that was specifically built for processing Les Pauls. In 1994, the company's centennial year, Gibson won an industry award for design, starting a second hundred years of quality and innovation. |

Paul Reed Smith Guitars Paul Reed Smith created his first guitar as a challenge to his professor. After he recieved an "A," Smith decided to pursue his dream of designing guitars for a living. Ten years later, Paul Reed Smith Guitars was named "Small Business of the Year" in Maryland. His designs include the McCarty (pictured left), the Single-Cutaway ("Singlecut"), the Tremonti, the Santana signatures, and others. PRS guitars are used by Carlos Santana, Paul Phillips of Puddle of Mudd, Chad Kroeger of Nickleback, Brad Delson of Linkin Park, and others. |
