The swimming world right now is faster than ever.  Everywhere you look, at every major meet, records are being smashed and new swimmers are emerging.  Swimming is becoming quite a popular sport for women, and new girls are joining all the time, but it is a dying sport for men.  This, though, does not change the fact that the people involved in the sport right now, many from the USA, are the best the world has ever seen.

If you are not familiar with swimmers, there are some faces you should know.  There are the people you have probably heard of before, like Jenny Thompson or Lenny Krayzelburg, but there are also some new faces you may not know, like Maggie Bowen or Kaitlyn Sandeno.  Some swimmers excell at a single stroke such as butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle, but most great swimmers swim well in any stroke.
