| The first type of skateboards were
actually more like scooters. They were from the early 1900's featured
roller skate wheels attached to a two by four. Often the wood had a crate
nailed to it with handles sticking out for control. Over the next few
decades kids changed the look of the scooter and took off the crate and
started riding on two by fours with steel wheels.
Over the years, skateboarding has a reputation of being a bad sport. This is because of many reasons, it started out by all the "gangster surfers," people look at you like a bad person while your on your board. Skateboards ruin things, like benches. Skateboarding has gotten so big these few years. Skateparks are popping over everywhere. Skateboarders are finally getting notices. Statistics show that more people would use skateparks than baseball fields. |
