The spring board is used in three of the
four events. ( vault, uneven bars and beam) They are mostly used for
mounting on to the apparatus. Gymnast jump on the board about 20 inches
from the end, the springiest part of the board.

| The warm up suit is used for the gymnast before and after
their routines. Usually the teams warm up suit all match or are very similar.
They may also use it for stretching and warm ups before a routine. To the
right and the bottom is the 1996 us gymnastics team. on the top is a
gymnastics team that is coming in to compete.

The grips are used for the the uneven bars. The women's grips are different from the men's' though. They are used to help prevent rips on their hands. (they meaning rips can become very painful)

The gymnast are required to wear a leotard during gymnastics meets. They are usually decorated very elaborately. Since they are elaborately decorated, they usually cost lots. A usual leotard costs about $150.00 to even $300.00. most gymnast either buy one a year or even make them like Shannon Miller (left) |
| Chalk is used on all of the events. They help the gymnast's hands from slipping or even ripping on the uneven bars. | |
