The 1996 Olympic gymnastics team surprised everyone. They took home the gold medal in the team all around. It came down to one vault that Kerri Strug pulled off with a sprained ankle. Unfortunately, she was not able to compete in any further events during that Olympics.

Kerri Strug was the whole reason they won the gold medal. She took her last vault with a sprained ankle and landed it perfectly. When they averaged the scores of both of her vaults, it came out to be enough for them to win the gold medal. Although Kerri ended up not being able to compete in the individual rounds. She was upset about that too. She was ecstatic that she won a gold medal with her team though.
