John and Christine used to be married.  They got divorced, but still are very good friends.  John is the 2nd best guitar player in the band.

He is one of the original members of the group.  Before Christine, Stevie, and Lindsey, there was only Mick and John and a bunch of other guys.  When John and Mick were in the other band (along with Jeremy Spencer and Peter Green), John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, they formed in 1967 in London and made their recording debut in 1968.  The record was called Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, and then they scored another hit with Mr. Wonderful.  In 1969, they got a new guitarist named Danny Kirwan.  At that same time they made a European hit single called Albatross.  They then became a blues-rock band.  The Beatles always tried to recruit them, but they signed on with Warner Brothers and released Then Play On, which was their US major-label in September.  The next year, Peter Green left the band.  The band really didn't care, so they moved on with their new hit Kiln House.  That same year, John married Christine.  She then became the band's keyboardist and backup singer.  Then, not long after Christine joined, Jeremy Spencer left to join a religious group.  Then, Bob Welch joined as his replacement.  Then in 1971, the band was officially called Fleetwood Mac.  They released a popular hit called Future Games and then quickly in 1972 they made another hit called Bare Trees.  Danny Kirwan became troubled so, they left him behind.  1975 brought Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks and that also brought the band's biggest hit ever to reach number 1, Rhiannon.  It sold over 5 million copies which made the band really happy.  Though John suffered through the divorce from his wife Christine, the band went on.  1977 brought their new album rumors that spent 31 weeks at number 1.  That, they sold 17 million copies and to this day they sold 30 million.

Christine McVie is the oldest female member of the group.  She's not the oldest in age, but she came first.

Fleetwood Mac really became popular when the band started getting the girls.

Every band needs a feminine touch!

John isn't as crazy as Mick, but he's pretty crazy.  He's the second oldest in the band too.  Of course you can sort of tell that Mick is the oldest.
