Barry Lamar Bonds was born on July twenty-fourth, 1964.  He was born in Riverside, California. When Barry was a kid he could hit a wiffle-ball through a glass window.

His career started in 1986 with the Pittsburgh Pirates.  In 1990 he was named major league player of the year by the Sporting News magazine.  He also won the baseball writers MVP.  That year he hit 33 homeruns, hit in 114 RBIs, batted .301, and stole 52 bases.  In 1993 he became a free agent and the San Francisco Giants signed.  So far in his career 3 MVPs.

In 2001 he hit 73 homeruns beating Mark Macgwire who hit 70 in 1998. 

That year his batting average was over .300.  His slugging percentage was over .750.
