Serena Williams. In the middle is another picture of Serena, she is
at the French Open. On the bottom is a picture of both Serena and
Venus. Her birthday is September 26, 1981. Serena was only five when her
dad, Richard, starting taking her to the courts. Her and her sister
Venus practiced constantly, and sometimes they even drew a crowd!
She grew up in Compton, California. She was a very good
student, she always seemed to get A's and B's in school. Serena has
four other sisters including Venus. Their names are Isha, Lyndrea,
and Yelude. On Saturday, July 6,2002 Serena won Wimbledon for the
first time! Serena is the first to win back- to back Grand Slam at
the French Open and Wimbledon since Steffi Graf in 1996. She has won
52 times against 4 defeats. Serena also won in the 1999 U.S.
Open.
