Hitomi Kanzaki, a typical high school student, had a vision that would change her life forever.  The following day, a boy by the name of Van appears at her school along with a dragon.  It turns out they're from a world call Gaea.  And this is there Van and Hitomi's adventure begins...

At the turn of the millennium, Earth's inhabitants are nearly wiped out by a mysterious meteorite that hit Antarctica.  The meteor melted the polar ice cap resulting in massive flooding and the deaths of about half the Earth's population.

The year 2015, the remaining people of Earth are frequently attacked by alien beings known as Angels.  The secret organization, NERV, and the giant mechas they produce, the Evangelions, are mankinds last hope.
