Duties of a Goalie A goalie in lacrosse isn't just supposed to block shots. He is also responsible for calling out where the ball is, and calling a clear. This means the the goalie has the ball and he is clearing the ball into the offensive zone. |

Position on Field A goalie stands in the crease. The crease is a circle around the net. The only ones allowed inside of the crease are the goalie and sometimes the defense can walk through it. If the goalie walks out of the crease he has 5 seconds to get rid of the ball. |

Equipment A goalie's equipment is very different than anyone else. He wears the same type of helmet but there is any extra neck protector attached to it. A goalie wears a very large chest protector. They also can wear shin guards if they want but it is not required. This also applies with the arm pads. |
