Duties of a Defenseman A defenseman is supposed to keep the ball out of his defensive zone. They also prevent the attackman from taking shots on net. |

Position on Field Defensemen are placed around the net. Each defenseman is standing side by side with an attackman. The defenseman is responsible for guarding this attackman. |

Equipment A defenseman has all of the ordinary equipment. The only difference is that a defenseman's stick is twice as long as an attackman or a midfeilder's stick. This gives the defenceman an advantage on an attackman. He can poke or stick check from a very long distance. |
