Practice is usually two hours long for recreation.  It is from 5 to 7 for the faster kids in eighth grade or lower every weekday, but in the middle of eighth grade you start practicing with the high school team.  When you practice with the high school you also have to go in the mornings at 5:45.  The other practice for recreation is 7 to 9 for the slower kids and the eight and unders.  They practice on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Each lap at the high school pool is 25 yards so 4 laps is 100 yards.  In practice they assign us a number of yards like four 100's.  Then they assign it on a time like 1:25.  So in all it is four 100's on 1:25.  They also can make a number of sets for the four 100's.  In the end it could be four sets of four one hundreds on one minute twenty-five seconds or 4(4#100's)on 1:25.  The coaches at practice for middle school are: Coach Jenkins for the boys and Coach Kennedy for the girls.  At recreation they are: Coach Jenkins, Coach Turka, and Coach Bower.  That is what we do at practice.  If you have the urge to join the team talk to Bill Kennedy.
