Phantom's Revenge

                           The Story

Entering the new millennium Kennywood was eager to build a new coaster.  But what space did they have?  When they built the Steel Phantom they had to do everything they could to fit it in.  But Kennywood noticed that during the years of the Steel Phantom rider ship had declined. So Kennywood had decided that could be the ride to change no corkscrews and no loops just dips and turns. It will be a smoother and faster ride.

But when Kennywood announced  that they were going to take out the Steel Phantom and a whole new ride not everyone was to happy with Kennywood's idea. Somebody even made a website to save the Phantom. Groundswell of support caused officials to rethink their plans. So Kennywood announced that the half of the Steel Phantom will be kept and the corkscrews and the loops will be gone.

After Labor Day Kennywood rolled up their sleeves and got to work on the Phantom's Revenge.  By the winter they had said the name of the coaster will be the Phantom's Revenge and there will be a tunnel and the second hill will be longer, Steel Phantom's hill was 225ft and they are going to make it 230.

And by the spring Kennywood had said that there will be no tunnel because of the time they were are ready behind and making the tunnel would put them more behind. Kennywood was done with the Phantom's Revenge a couple days after opening day and for the summer of 2001 the Phantom's Revenge thrilled thousand and Kennywood kept their promise with a smoother and faster ride. Kennywood said that the Phantom's Revenge and the Thunderbolt at one point of the the ride almost become parallel.
