There are two was to set a ball.  One is if you are late or the ball is passed low you make your plat form vertical and bump the ball high enough for some one to hit the ball.  The other way is to get there early get in proper position which is to square up facing your hitter and you put your right foot forward arms up so if you let go of the ball the ball would fall on your hair line.  Then you snap your arms up releasing the ball nice and high so the hitter can hit it.

The proper way to spike is to take the three step approach to the net.  The first step should be a little step to get you started.  The second step it BIG and you are pulling your arms back out and wide.  On you third step you swing your arms forwarded swinging them up it hit the ball the  other side of the court to score.

To have the best bump is to have the perfect plat form. If you look on the right you will see the perfect platform.  You should have your knees bent, shoulder shrugged, and arms out.  using your legs push up to hit the ball.  Key DO NOT BEND YOUR ELBOWS!
