Julia Roberts (full name; Julia Fiona Roberts) was born on October 28th 1967 in Smyrna, Georgia.  She grew up around theaters and people who attended her parents' Actors and Writers workshop in their home. Both she and her brother were interested in acting and it was he who made it to movies first. Julia moved to New York after after High School. She made her film debut playing a supporting role opposite her brother in Blood Red, which though completed in 1986 was not released until 1989. She appeared in a couple of made-for-TV movies and low budget future.  She preformed in Firehouse in 1987 before getting her big break.  She also performed in satisfaction which was the made-for -cable drama. This when she made her break.  This led to her supporting role in Mystic Pizza. Her Portrayal earned Roberts an Oscar nomination and made her a star  for her next film Roberts attempted to branch off into  more serious rolls by playing a medical student who starts tinkering with life after death experiences.  During production Roberts became involved with costar Kiefer Sutherland.

After shooting her scenes as Tinkerbell in Steven Spielberg's Hook, she took some time off to repair her personal life, though she did appear briefly in The player. In 1993 she married country singer Lyle Lovett and then made a successful comeback in The Pelican Brief. Her Career picked up the following year with I Love Trouble and Pret-a Porter Mary Reilly (1996) was a box-office frizzle, but Roberts career began picking up again with Michael Collins and Conspiracy Theory (both 1916).In 1917, Roberts made a triumphant return to romantic comedy in the darkly funny My Best Friend's Wedding, and she continued her romantic comedy in 1999 with Notting hill and Run away bride. Although later on when she made the movie pretty women it was a disappointment. She stared in Erin Brockovich in the year 2000.
