"Slipknot" (Self Titled Album) Info. and Meanings

Track 1: "742617000027" - This is just a sample track. "The whole thing I think is sick" is repeated many times. May people think it's #8 (Corey) saying this, but  it is actually sample taken from a Charles Manson documentary.

Track 2: "(Sic)" - Many people are not sure what the meaning of this song is, but the only information I could get about it is that (sic) (said in context) is a literary term that is used by author's when he/she knows something is wrong, but includes it anyway.

Track 3: "Eyeless" - Slipknot had gone to New York and ran into a schizophrenic who kept screaming, "You can't see California without Marlon Brando's eyes!". Eyeless is also about Corey's (#8) father as seen in the phrase, "I am my father's son, cause' he's a phantom, a mystery, and that leaves me nothing!" Corey never knew his father because he left before he was born.

Track 4: "Wait and Bleed" - Description not posted (too tragic).

Track 5: "Surfacing" - "Surfacing" is a song about not letting people judge you or put you down for being different. It's about not changing for anybody, and being yourself no matter what.

Track 6: "Spit it Out" - "Spit it Out" is obviously an angry song, written in retaliation to a Des Moines, Iowa (where Slipknot came from) radio station who liked to bash Slipknot and not play their material. 2 years later, "Spit it Out" is in that station's regular rotation.

Track 7: "Tattered and Torn" - This song is about a person hurting his or her self, and hiding from the things that "make me hurt".

Track 8: "Me Inside" - This song is about when things get bad and when everything and anything in your life decides to explode all at once and it drives you crazy. "Giving in to what has got me, feeling claustrophobic scarred, sever me from all emotion...". Basically just trying to cope with all these corrupt things in your life and it's making you crazy, and the thought of it becomes overbearing.

Track 9: "Liberate" - It's about pain, and trying to survive it.

Track 10: "Prosthetics" - The song is loosely based on a 1960's movie called "The Collector" about a man who kidnaps girls and collects them.

Track 11: "No Life" - All you have is yourself and your freedom. It's no kind of life to live in constant, so you end up hiding behind a false "mask" so no one can see what's really inside.

Track 12: "Diluted" - It's about people who are so depressed they feel they cannot go on. They are haunted by others, and themselves.

Track 13: "Purity" - (No longer on "Slipknot") Main Description not posted (too tragic.) - This song was on the original "Slipknot" album, but they had to re-release the cd with this track taken off because Slipknot was using sound clips from the murder case that this song is about. Corey was very upset  by this case, so he made a song about his feelings. Corey says (about the case this song is based on), "I can't stand to be human! What's inside us that makes us do these things?"
