Just like riding a bicycle, a helmet protects you head on a dirt bike. Only a dirt bike helmet is bigger and stronger than a bike helmet. A dirt bike helmet protects you head and mouth. You wear goggles for protection against flying rocks and dirt. |
| Boots | |
| Dirt Bike boots are almost the same as ski boots. They have a hard plastic outside and a soft inside. Boots protect your feet just in case you fall and your dirt bike lands on top of you. They are also for protection against flying rocks. They have a strong heel so you don't hurt your foot when you step on the foot peg. They have a strong toe so you can change gears fast. |

| Chest Protector | |
When playing ice hockey, a chest protector protects your chest from the puck and other players checking you. When riding a dirt bike, a chest protector protects your chest from rocks and the dirt bike falling on top of you. |
| Riding Pants | |
Riding pants are also known a dirt bike pants. They protect your leg from being burnt by the muffler. They also protect your legs from mud and rocks. They are just like regular pants but stronger. They also have padding in the hips so if and when you fall off, you won't get hurt as bad. |
