In brief the Australian Cattle Dog originated from Australia. This is how their name was found. Their AKC group is herding. These dogs are known for herding cattle, thus the Australian Cattle Dog. They also herd other large farm animals. Their life expectancy is about ten to thirteen years of age. The Australian Cattle Dogs color is usually blue and red speckled. They have a straight overcoat and dense undercoat. They need a weekly grooming sometimes daily during springs shedding season. For all Australian Cattle Dog, males height ranges from eighteen to twenty inches. The female height ranges from seventeen inches to nineteen inches tall. The female and males weight ranges from thirty-five to forty-five pounds. Their activity level is high. And their intelligence is extremely high. |
| For trainability the Australian Cattle Dog should not be forced into being trained. Although they are excellent watch dogs. These dogs are intense intelligent and very dominate. Australian Cattle Dogs are good with children if they are trained not to nip at them. If they are trained no to nip they are excellent with children. They need daily exercise and lots of interaction with there owners. Due to there dominance they will continue being dominant to other animals unless they have or will be trained to not chase. | |
