PLANES AND WEAPONS USED IN AFGHANISTAN
This page will inform you about the planes and weapons the U.S. and it's allies are using in Afghanistan. Also the probable plans the U.S. is planning to take into action.
| This is the Tomahawk Cruise Missile. It was the first weapon the U.S. and it's allies fired at Afghanistan to weaken their air defense capabilities and to hit terrorist training camps. It can be fired from warships, planes (listed below) and submarines. |
|
| The B-2 Spirit was one of the first airplanes to go into Afghanistan and bomb it. The B-2 did not only use Tomahawk missiles but also the JDAM bomb and many other laser-guided and general purpose bombs. The B-2s took off from U.S. airbases with the other planes I have listed here. in neighboring countries. |
|
| The AC-130U SPOOKY is a new weapon the U.S. added to combat the Taliban troops. The AC-130U is also known as the AC-130U SPECTRE but it is being called SPOOKY because it is using different weapons and there may be other small differences from the SPECTRE. The SPECTRE's weapons are 1 GAU-12/U 25-mm cannon with 3,000 rounds; 40-mm Bofors cannon and a 105-mm howitzer. The SPOOKY's weapons are different except for the howitzer. |
|
| The B-52 Stratofortress was also one of the first planes to go into Afghanistan. This plane also uses the weapons the B-2 did including the Tomahawk Cruise Missile. |
|
| The B-1B Lancer was also one of the first planes to strike Afghanistan. It served all of the purposes the planes I listed above did. | ![]() |
THE NORTHERN ALLIANCE
The Northern Alliance that has been fighting the Taliban for many years are willing to help the U.S. They say they have enough weapons to supply a lot more troops. These weapons are provided by Russia.
THE PLAN
This is the plan that the U.S. MAY use against Afghanistan. This information was obtained by the media and may not be entirely accurate.
The plan is for the U.S. destroy all Taliban military positions. These include troops, tanks, other ground units and if the Taliban has any planes left after we are done. Then, the U.S. may actually pay the Northern Alliance to go into Afghanistan and search the mountains that Osama bin Laden may be hiding in. The Northern Alliance already has control of part of Afghanistan.
