Banff Springs is located in Alberta, Canada. With towering peaks, glacial lakes, and an outstanding design, the course has all the ingredients for great golf. It's carved out of the Rockies and is the first course to cost more than $1 million to complete. The par-three holes are all very memorable. The famed Devil's Cauldron is one of the most photographed holes in golf. An elevated tee sits above a glacial lake that offers protection for a sloping green 170 yards away. The combination of the mountain elevation and gusting winds makes for a tough shot. No matter where you are on this course, the view is magnificent. This is really one heck of a century-old course.

Kananaskis Golf Course, located in Kananakis Village, in Alberta, Canada, is a site to see. The architect Robert Trent Jones said the site was the best he'd ever seen for a golf course. There are two courses, Mount Lorette, a 7,100-yard layout that opened in 1983, and 7,049-yard Mount Kidd opened a year later in 1984. For public courses, the length might intimidate you, but the light air in the mountains helps bring them back to mid-handicap standards. The courses are relatively flat, but water and sand are plentiful and make placement a premium on both courses. The greens are fair and not to difficult to read. What you see is what you get. The beauty gives you a treat unlike any other in golf, and regardless of your score, a round at Kananakis is time spent well.

Shinyo Golf Course is located in Nagoya, Japan. The course itself, fits naturally into the countryside. The 7th hole (left), is one of the most anticipated touches on the course, a par three with a green set in the pond. At the front of the green sits a portion of grass shaped like a Japanese fan complete with undulations. The 12th hole has a series of traps all the way around the green. A lake with waterfalls also comes up the hole and splits the green in two. There is abridge on the course that spans a 40-foot gully-which was said to have cost $1 million. Memberships sell at more than $425,000. This is definitely a memorable course.

Located in South Carolina, these two courses are the best in the area. The water is abundant, just like the sand.

This Wizard gives you the actual feeling that you are in the medieval times. The course gives you an unforgettable golf experience.

The Witch encompasses over 500 acres, with 4,000 feet of bridgework that will take you through undisturbed woodlands and across hundreds of acres of wetlands. Warning: the beauty of the setting doesn't diminish the challenge lurking in the layout.
