Shortly after 11:30 P.M. the ship first officer ordered the engines put in reverse and the ship turned as far as it can go. It was way to late. As it hit the iceberg popping the steel rivets holding the plates together letting water pour in. |
| One hour after
the collision. The captain ordered to have distress rockets fired
off. He saw another ship in the distance. That ship never
responded. By this time the bow was sinking.
