2001 Pitt Players Turned Pro

Antonio Bryant, Wide Receiver for Pitt, was selected in the second round as the Dallas Cowboys' third pick. In 2000, Antonio won the Biletnikoff Award as the top wide receiver in the country.  Antonio finished his collegiate career with 173 receptions, 3,061 yards, and 30 touchdowns.  Although he has had problems with the law before and that's probably the only reason he got picked in the 2nd round instead of the 1st, but the coaches at Pitt feel he has matured a lot in the past season and will do great in the NFL.

Ramon Walker, Cornerback for Pitt, was selected in the 3rd round by the Houston Texans.  He is a very aggressive tackler and a big hitter.  He won All-Big East and Freshman All-American honors.  While playing for Pitt, he has had a total of 307 tackles and 190 of them were solo tackles.
Bryan Knight, Linebacker for Pitt, was selected by the Chicago Bears in the 3rd round.  He won All-Big East honors and was the best defensive player on the team.
David Priestley, Quarterback for Pitt, was drafted by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted rookie free agent.  In his collegiate career, he has had 423 completions out of 528 attempts for 4,195 yards.  He completed 27 touchdowns and threw 14 interceptions.
R.J. English, Wide Receiver for Pitt, was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted rookie free agent.  In his collegiate career, he has had 56 receptions for 1,086 yards and had 9 touchdowns.
