Final Fantasy IX is hated by many Final Fantasy fans, but also, many fans enjoyed its traditional setting. As Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII are more futuristic, Final Fantasy IX id much more like the old Final Fantasies for Super Nintendo. It is based more on a medieval time setting, and many fans enjoyed the trip down memory lane. |
| In my opinion, Final Fantasy IX has the best storyline of any others. You start the game off with a strange monkey-boy named Zidane, who stays in your party throughout the game. Many people think he's the main character, but I think that there is no main characters because Final Fantasy IX focuses on all characters and you witness each character's personal problems, challenges, and conversations. |

This is Freya, a female Burmecian Dragoon that is an old friend of Zidane. |
Soon after you meet Zidane, he tries to capture Princess Garnet, and he discovers that she WANTS to be captured. He then encounters Steiner, the Princess' overly protective knight, and Vivi, a childish young black mage. They then journey off to the world to meet new friends and put an end to Kuja, the evil sorcerer. |
This is Quina, the silly Qu who joins your party later in the game. |
This is Amarant, the lone mercenary that was originally sent to kill Zidane. |
