July 7, 1972 was when Lisa Leslie was born.  She graduated from USC in 1994.  This past year Lisa was outstanding, she lad the LA Sparks to their first WNBA Championship.  Lisa took a total sweep on in the MVP column she was the MVP of the All-Star Game, MVP of the Regular Season, and MVP of the Playoffs.  This 6-5 post is a two-time gold medallist.  And last season she had 15 double-doubles to lead the league.  I don't think Leslie is going to cool down this summer, and expect her to make another running at all the MVP's.

Cynthia Cooper is now 37 and retired from the WNBA.  She graduated from USC in 1987.  Although she isn't playing in the WNBA she is still deeply involved, she is the Head Coach of the Phoenix Mercury.  When Cooper played she was the MVP for the first two season and she led the Houston Comets to 4 WNBA Titles.  Cooper led the WNBA in scoring from 1997-99, and she was the first player in WNBA history to reach the 300, 400, 500, 1000, 2000 and 2500-point plateaus. Cooper started every game she played and missed only two games in her WNBA career. She was originally signed by the WNBA and assigned to Houston on Jan. 22, 1997.  This year Coop looks to  coach the Mercury to into the playoffs.
