Old school skating was most excellent in the 80's.  The skaters were resourceful by using the terrain around them to their advantage when skating. The old guys in skateboarding today, like Tony Hawk, Tony Alva, Danny Way, Steve Caballero, and Lance Mountain, were the "YOUNG GUNS" in the 1980's.  If you look at the boards in the following pictures they are very different from today's skateboards with the double kicks.  Mike Vallely was the first person to think up of and create the types of boards that are in use today.

This is way back in '86.  Steve "CAB" Caballero is launching off a ramp in a parking lot near his house.
Neil Blender wasn't a real popular skater back in the day, but his rock-n-rolls are as good as anybody else's.

Here, Jesse Fritsch earned his props for this huge indy grab off a kicker.
