Pitcher The pitcher is one the main players on the field. He has one key purpose, to pitch the ball over the plate and get people out. Most great pitchers have a great fastball so they can throw curveballs and change-ups to trick the hitters. |

Catcher The catcher touches the ball almost every play. They call the pitches that the pitcher throws and mostly call pitch outs, pick offs, and other secret signs. |

1st Baseman The first baseman is a popular position for power hitters. First basemen have to be good fielders because when they get a ball it's usually a hot shot. |

2nd Baseman 2nd basemen are like a shortstop but just on the other side of the field. Their jobs consist of backing up stolen bases and covering first base on a bunt. |

Shortstop Shortstops consist of probably the most talented people on the field. At this position there aren't many power hitters. Most shortstops just hit for contact.

3rd Baseman Third basemen are the best fielders on the field. They field the hardest and toughest balls. They also have to charge bunts and cover their base for steals. |

|
Outfield The outfield has three positions, right field, left field, and center field. Their job is to track down ground balls and fly balls hit to them. Some outfielders are power hitters and some are fast as lightning. |
