The story of the struggle between Dr. Eggman and Sonic goes way back and you could only play in story mode with Sonic, but in Sonic Adventure 2 you can play both sides of the story. It is your choice SAVE the world or DESTROY it.
THE GOOD STORY
It is just another fine day for our hero Sonic...until he is taken away by some military force code named GUN. He remains stationary on a helicopter for awhile until he escapes and joins Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. Later they fly into space to fight against Eggman and Shadow to stop the ECLIPSE CANNON from firing, they succeed and finally stop Eggman and Shadow.
THE EVIL STORY
Another day for Dr. Eggman until he finds Shadow in a military research base. He and Shadow go on a rampage for the seven Chaos Emeralds. They need these to fire a high powered beam to decimate the Planet. When they found all seven Sonic tried to stop them, but Shadow over powered him and Dr. Eggman finally got what he wanted.
