The characters of this game are the old faves like Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails. With new ones like Rouge and Shadow. Whenever these characters enter the game the make the conflict more serious.

Sonic's best friend Miles "Tails" Prowler is a super smart mechanic just like Dr. Eggman. He is only playable without his vehicle "Cyclone" in the Chaos world |

Rouge the Bat is a Treasure Hunting double agent for the evil characters as well as the good. |
THE BAD CHARACTERS

It is that evil Dr. Eggman again, Dr. Robotnik, off to take over the world once again, but will Sonic be able to stop him? |

The so called ultimate life form, Shadow is unleashed by Eggman and set out to destroy the world. He is a very good adversary for Sonic because Shadow is just like Sonic in everyway. |

Even though Dr. Gerald Robotnik, the grand father of Dr. Eggman, and Maria Robotnik, a cousin of Dr. Eggman, are mainly good characters. Dr. Gerald Robotnik goes insane and tries to send the Space Colony A.R.K. in to the Earth. |

Rouge is mainly a bad character for most of the game, but as the story moves along she reveals who she is working for and who she begins to love. |
