There are many races held in the state of Pennsylvania. All of the races are supported by a foundation to raise money and cure people. The three races that I find most interesting are The Race for the Cure, The Jingle Bell Run, and The Great Race. These are all running events. In all of the races you can run are 5k , which is a three mile run. The running races are found in different states other than Pennsylvania. Running is a good way to exercise and it's not only good health for you but it helps raise money for the people with breast cancer and arthritis.

Now here is a little bit about The race for the cure. It is funded by the Breast Cancer Foundation. The races real name is The Komen Race for the cure. Susan G. Komen had breast cancer and went through a really hard time. Susan G. Komen died at the age of 38 from breast cancer. Her sister, Nancy Brinker, was very sad. Nancy then started the Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Jingle Bell Race is held in the Winter. This race supports Arthritis. It is fun to run in because you are getting exercise. It makes you feel good about yourself. There are a lot of people that attend the race. There is a lot of fun activities you can do before and after the race.
The Great Race is held in Pittsburgh, PA.  It's real name is Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race. Richard S. Camiguiri was a mayor of Pittsburgh. He had many great accomplishments. He died of amaloidosis. It is a rare disease. The money goes to help people with rare dieases.
