The Golden Retriever has an average height of 21.5-24 inches tall. The females usually weigh from 55 to 65 pounds and males usually weigh from 65 to 75 pounds. They love the outside and can sleep outside if proper shelter is provided. |

Since their coat does shed, they must be groomed at least once a week. Their hair is long and thick so when grooming you must remove the shedding hair. |

| Some hereditary health problems are hip dysplasia (poor development of the hips), von Willebrand's disease (a bleeding disorder), eye disease, and heart disease. They can be detected by regular veterinary check-ups and testing. |
