When you bring your new dog home, you will need to help it adapt to its new home.  Its will be easier if you plan ahead.  If you have all the pet's basic needs in your home, you can focus on introducing our new  pet in its new surroundings.

Do all of your shopping in advance.  If you are getting a puppy you will need a collar, leash, a crate, brush, toys that are safe for a puppy, and food and water bowls, and dog treats.

Choose a vet for your new arrival as soon as possible.  Ask neighbors or friends who own pets for recommendations or you can look in the yellow pages.
