There are over 31 different types or species of dolphins found in various places all over the world.  Since this is only a student web page, and I have a very limited amount of time in which to complete this, I will only write about the most common types of dolphins.  Those include: Bottlenose dolphins, Pantropical Spotted Dolphins, Long-Snouted Spinner Dolphins, and many other types of dolphins.  There are two ways to classify dolphins, beaked dolphins, and non-beaked dolphins.  Pictured below are beaked dolphins.

Here are dolphins swimming in a group.  Different types of dolphins swim in different size groups or pods.  Pod sizes can range anywhere from 2-7 to 50-3,000.  The size of the pod depends on the type of dolphin.

The dolphin jumping in the picture to the right is a Dusky Dolphin.  It ranges anywhere from 5-7 feet long.  Its pod size can have 20-500 dolphins.

This is a mother Pantropical Spotted Dolphin with its calves.  Its size ranges from 5. 5 -7. 5 feet long.  Its pod size can range anywhere from 50-3,000 dolphins.  From my research, I have learned that this type of dolphin has the most amount of dolphins in its pod.

This is a Long-Snouted Spinner Dolphin, which is known for spinning fast while it jumps high into the air.  It ranges from 4-8 feet long.  Its pod can have up to 1,000 dolphins.

This dolphin jumping to the clouds is a Bottlenose Dolphin.  It can be 6-13 feet long.  Its pod size can be 1-10 dolphins.

The dolphin that's popping up to say hello is called Risso's Dolphin.  It can be 8. 5-12. 5 feet long.  Its pod can consist of 3 to 50 dolphins.  As this dolphin gets older, it gets more and more white scars from accidental scratches or tooth marks from fights with other Risso's Dolphins.

This is a White-Beaked Dolphin.  It can grow to be any where between 8 and 9 feet.  It's pod size can have anywhere from 2-30 dolphins in it.
