There are over 31 different types or species of dolphins found in various places all over the world. Since this is only a student web page, and I have a very limited amount of time in which to complete this, I will only write about the most common types of dolphins. Those include: Bottlenose dolphins, Pantropical Spotted Dolphins, Long-Snouted Spinner Dolphins, and many other types of dolphins. There are two ways to classify dolphins, beaked dolphins, and non-beaked dolphins. Pictured below are beaked dolphins.

This is a Long-Snouted Spinner Dolphin, which is known for spinning fast while it jumps high into the air. It ranges from 4-8 feet long. Its pod can have up to 1,000 dolphins. |

The dolphin that's popping up to say hello is called Risso's Dolphin. It can be 8. 5-12. 5 feet long. Its pod can consist of 3 to 50 dolphins. As this dolphin gets older, it gets more and more white scars from accidental scratches or tooth marks from fights with other Risso's Dolphins. |
