THE STORY BEHIND MISS SPEARS
Britney Spears was born in Kentwood, LA in 1982; she took dance lessons and sang in church choirs. At age eight she auditioned for a role on the Disney Channel's Mickey Mouse Club show, and even though the series' producers sought her too young for the job they were sufficiently impressed with the her talent to assist her in gaining entry to New York's Off-Broadway Dance Center and the Professional Performing Arts School. After a series of television commercials and stage appearances, at 11 Britney finally joined The Mickey Mouse Club, where she remained for two seasons.

Pop princess... Miss Spears' career has rocketed from 1999 to 2002. She has worked her way to the top, winning Grammys, and all. She is most definitely an idol, to so many girls young and old. Although she has had to deal with a lot of unnecessary rumors, she has broken through it all, and has managed to gain almost everyone's respect for her and who she is and now everyone recognizes her for what she does. She has got to be more than proud of herself for all her accomplishments.
