Throwing

Throwing is one of the major skills needed to play any type of softball or baseball.  To throw you need to have the opposite shoulder you have the ball in facing your target.  Then you want to hold the ball so the your elbow is above your shoulder.  You then want to rotate your shoulder around and let go of the ball so that after you let go of the ball you are pointed at the target.  That is how you throw the ball.

Catching

Catching is another major skill needed in any type of softball or baseball.  To catch all you need to do is when the ball hits your glove you need to squeeze the ball with your hand and hold your other hand so that the ball doesn't fall.  To catch a grounder you need to move your glove to where the ball is coming from place your glove on the ground so that your finger tips are pointing at the ground in your glove.  When the ball rolls into your glove you put the other hand on top of the glove preventing the ball from falling out.  Your butt should be down while catching a grounder.  That is all you need to catch a grounder.
