This photo will feature a B-52 Stratofortress. Most versions of the B-52 had a fearsome rear defense of four .50 cal. guns. These were aimed using the radar mounted above. By using inflight refueling, the B-52 can cover any part of the globe from just a few bases. This experienced aircraft is seen on its way to Vietnam in 1972. For most of the Vietnam War the B-52 flew ''Arc Light'' missions, attacking Communists hiding beneath the featureless jungle canopy. The B-52 has an important role as a launch platform for nuclear missiles. The B-52's cockpit is dominated by the central engine control panel. Eight engines means every dial and lever is multiplied eight-folded. Also the B-52 has a crew of six, including two pilots, navigator, electronic warfare officer and bombardier. Boeing manufactured 744 ''Buffs'' and finished the last aircraft in October 1962. A B-52 can reach any target in the world within 18 hours. During operation Desert Storm, B-52s flew 1,624 missions and dropped 12,850,000 pounds of bombs. Every B-52 contains more than 56mi. of electrical wiring. In 1959, three B-52Bs flew nonstop around the world in under 50 hours. Its Span is 185ft. The length 160ft. 11in. |

On this scene I will show you a picture of a MiG-29 known as the Fulcrum. This aircraft can go airborn less than 800 feet. Eventhough some of the MiG-29's systems are old fashioned, the MiG's advanced aerodynamics and great power give it unsurpassed maneuverability. Fulcums formally known as the MiG-29 are operated by the air force of about 30 nations including Slovakia. For 10 years this MiG was a threat. But now it can be counted on as a friend for assistance during a mission etc. The MiG-29 can operate form rough fields using different equipment. Braking parachutes brings this MiG-29 to a stop. For a stealthy hard to detect the MiG-29 can use a infrared imaging device rather than radar. It also has an ejection seat, the Zvezda K-36, which works at Mach 2.5. The missile the Mig-29 owns is called the AA-10 which can destroy enemies 25 miles away. During when the air forces of East and West Germany, the MiG-29 was the only Russian combat type good enough to be retained by Luftwaffe. This aircraft readily performs the tailside where the aircraft falls backward at the apex of a vertical climb, then the aircraft recovers with power. |
