Players Rookie/Novice
|
To put it simply there are three levels of players. Rookie/Novice, Amateur, and pro. Your average rookie players has less than a year of tournament experience and has been playing for a fairly short time. These players normally shoot lower end guns and don't have a lot of experience. These players though are the future of our sport and shouldn't be taken lightly. Though a player may fall under the rookie category they can still be an exceptional player. |
| Amateur players are a pretty vast amount of players. Amateur players can be considered every player with over a year of experience and aren't pro. That could be a whole lot of people. Amateur players normally shoot middle to high end guns. These players can be extremely good. Even though these players aren't professional there is still many worldwide tournaments for these kind of players. |

These players all shoot custom guns designed to their exact specifications. Pro players travel all around the world to compete in international tournaments for large amounts of money and prizes. Rec Ball
|
Rec ball is probably your most common form of paintball, give or take how into paintball your local area is. Rec paintball just simply consists of players just playing at a local arena or wooded area depending on where you live. Rec ball is just played for fun and games. This is where you'll find the future young guns of our sport developing into hardened, experienced players. |
| At the other end of paintball you'll find your experienced players here playing in large tournaments where the prizes are sponsorship and cash. Tourney ball is the total opposite of rec ball. Here the teams have planned out actions and set movements. These teams practice and train for months just to go to a singular tournament. In tournaments today teams shoot on average thousands of rounds of paint a game compared to the little a player can shoot in a rec game. |

Skirmishes

Then we come to skirmishes. Skirmishes are totally different from rec ball and tournament ball. In skirmishes there are set teams and objectives. There is a storyline and plot to most all skirmishes in this day and age. There is role-playing and acting in these. These are massive games. Skirmish games can last for days at a time and can include things such as paintball tanks and mortars. Players can dress up in costumes and other various articles of clothing as long as it is deemed safe by the event staff.
