Paintball originated approximately ten to twelve years ago. It was originally played as a bush game which consisted of two teams hiding in some back woods or at a field and just playing an elimination match, which is when a team wins by eliminating all the opposing players. Safety back then wasn't as big as it is today as you can see by these original goggles. Thus, injuries occurred more frequently and the rules weren't regulated as strictly as they are today. |
| The original paintball markers or guns used back then were pgp pump guns that ran off of twelve gram CO2 cartridges. These markers had a very low accuracy and a very low shot rate. They were also very loud. Between each shot of this pistols you had to cock them to allow a paintball in before you could shoot again. If it couldn't be any worse these markers only held ten rounds. So the games back then were best shot wins. |  |
