The handstand is one of the basic tricks of gymnastics.  Other than the forward roll, the handstand is one of the first tricks you would learn.  In order to perform a handstand, you act the following:

1) Place your hands on the ground not too far away from your hands.

2)Put pressure on your shoulders and lock out. (Push out of your hands)

3)Then kick your feet and legs up towards the ceiling in a tight fashion, squeezing your whole body.

4) Now that you know how to do it mentally, all you have to do is practice it over and over and you will succeed in doing a handstand.

 

When doing gymnastics, the most important thing to remember

is do not try anything without supervision.  You can Never be 

too safe!!!
