In the sport of gymnastics there are 4 different events in which

you perform on to be judged.  Gymnasts compete in a rotation

called "Olympic Order" which is Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor.

Starting in Olympic Order with Vault, to the left of the screen is a sample to what gymnasts vault on.  This piece of equipment is called the Vaulting Table.  It is a new version which is not used by all gymnasts, but is mandatory for next years competetive season. The Vaulting Table is raised about 41/2 feet above level, but can be adjusted.

Next in the Olympic order is the uneven bars. These consist of two wooden bars coated in chalk that are parallel about 4 feet in spread.  Tight cables hold this event up and sturdy.  The uneven bars is one of the hardest event, that is from a gymnasts point of view.  Most gymnasts on this event use grips on their hands to prevent rips.

The event  shown to the left is the balance beam.  It is 16 feet long and 4 inches in width.  Gymnasts perform a 1 minute and 30 second routine on the balance beam in a meet.  The beam can be adjusted juts about any heighth below around 3 feet.

The last but not least event in Olympic Order is the Floor Exercise.  The  floor is a complete square and each side has a width of 30 feet.  Gymnasts perform about a 1 minute/30 second routine.  Usually the floor is either made of foam or springs.
