There are lots of different kinds of music that can be played with the guitar. Pretty much every style of music you can think of has a guitar involved. You name it; Rock, Pop, Country, even Classical and some Rap. When you pick up a guitar the sky is the limits to what you can do with it. You could go crazy like Hendrix, or keep a mellow beat like Eric Clapton. There are so many different scales and notes, you can play any song imaginable.

Guitars come in a great range of prices. You can buy one for $100 and go up to around $2,500. Most people will start with a cheaper guitar and as they progress they will get a higher quality guitar. The difference between a cheaper guitar and a more expensive guitar is sound quality, playability, and the materials used to make the guitar. By sound quality I mean the type of tones and volumes the guitar can crank out. Playability is also important when your looking for a guitar. Cheaper guitars are usually easier to play because they are for beginners. Guitars can be made of  plastic, wood, and sometimes metal.  Plastic being the cheapest, then metal, and wood  being the most expensive. No matter what anyone tells you, any guitar is a good guitar.
