Image 7 Jimi Hendrix is one of the greatest guitar players of all time. He make a guitar come to life. He could play more than chords and scales, he made sounds come out of a guitar that no one had ever heard before. He was popular in the 1960's during the Vietnam war which he was against.  He was a supporter of the drug culture. You might know him from his "Star Spangled Banner " performance at Woodstock.
Dave Mathews is a currently a star in the music word and he has been since 1990. His band has had a lot of success with their odd style of music mixed of jazz, rock, and alternative. He's all about staying cool and laid back.  Dave Mathews has a lot of complex and difficult songs that are very hard to learn and play.
Eric Clapton was a great guitarist in the 6o's and he still is today. Except his style of music has changed. He used to crank out some metal rock tunes and now most of his songs are slow and relaxing.
Nirvana came around in the early 1990s. They brought rock music back into the economy but they brought in a way no one had ever seen it before. There style of music was so original there was nothing else like it. They had crazy guitar tunes with clever bass riffs all kept together by a moving beat at the drum set. Kurt Cobain's  lyrics were very meaningful, sometimes in inappropriate ways. Then in 1994 Kurt Cobain committed suicide and that was the end of Nirvana. The music is still popular today and probably will be for a long time.
The boys from "Greenday" started the punk music as we know it today from bands like New Found Glory, Sum 41, and Blink 182. There first album came out in 1990. They have had  7 successful albums. Today they are still touring and doing what they love.
