| In 1938, four brothers, Abram, Ira, Phillip, and Joseph Shorin, founded the Topps Company Inc. This company went on to become the world's best known manufacturer of bubble gum and trading cards. Topps has been making baseball cards since 1951. Topps entered the baseball cards world in the post-World War 2 period. The original cards in 1952 consisted of 2 sets consisting of 52 cards each. In 2001 Topps celebrated their 50th anniversary. For this special anniversary Topps placed one of every card they ever made into random packs. So for instance you could receive a 1986 Barry Bonds or even a 1952 Mickey Mantle. |

Upper Deck was one of the first companies to insert insert cards in their packs. The first set of insert cards were dedicated to "Mr. October," Reggie Jackson. This was a ten card limited edition set. |

My favorite brand out of these three is Topps. Topps has always been my favorite brand of cards. I have always bought their cards and have always liked the way they sometimes have contests, base cards, and my favorite, insert cards.
