Magic Knight Rayearth was originally a manga (comic) made by CLAMP. The story was then made into an anime, which premiered in Japan. Then the series was dubbed and brought over to America. (yay!)

Magic Knights Rayearth is a terrific show with a great story. The show was excellently dubbed, so if you choose to watch it in English, the dialogue stays mostly the same.
