A Summary of the Pirates 2001 Season

The Pirates 2001 season was terrible. They didn't do anything and the only reason they got any fans to come was PNC Park (look below). I mean, I dont blame them, I, myself went to four games at PNC Park. Anyways, the Pirates sucked. They had no pitching, and no big hitting, except for Brian Giles. The Pirates former GM made no good moves. Why would any body sign Derek, saggy eyes, Bell for above 5 million. The Pirates really opened PNC Park with a bang. The only good thing about going to a Pirates game was looking at PNC Park, and not being disappointed after the game was over, because you always knew they were going to lose. I'm hoping the Pirates step it up this upcoming season for their and the fans benefits. With the acquisition of Pokey Reese, that will definitely help the Pirates out in some way. But the Pirates still have no pitching staff and until they do get one, they will always be an under 500 baseball club. I think this year Brian Giles will have a career year, and maybe Aromos will have one to. I don't see the Pirates in any playoff contention for at least another 2 years.

This is PNC Park. PNC Park is the Pirates brand new baseball stadium. It has a great view of downtown Pittsburgh. I think it is one of the best baseball stadium in the MLB, if not the best. Some special qualities of PNC Park are its home...   plate clubwhere people get to sit right behind home plate and get food brought to them during the game. PNC Park is located right on the shore of the Allegheny River. There is also a river walk right behind PNC Park to walk on. The Pirates did a great job designing this ballpark.
