Green Day was formed in 1990 in Berkeley California. Before that they were known as Sweet Children. Tre Cool joined the band in 1991, and it has been Billy Joe, Tre, and Mike ever since. They have made many successful albums, and will continue to in the future. Green Day has paved the way for punk bands like Sum 41 and Blink 182. They have appeared on movie soundtracks, started a mud fight at Woodstock, and constantly give great live shows. They now produce their own records, and write the music and lyrics to all of their songs. Green Day, unlike most bands and performers now, have their own original style of music. That is what makes them so good.
