Baseball is a slow yet exciting game. Some people find baseball to be boring, but if you really understand baseball it can be very fun.
Baseball consists of nine players on each team. The outfield consists of a right, left, and center fielder. There is a pitcher and a catcher (also known as the battery). Along with the pitcher and the catcher there is a first, second, and third baseman. They are accompanied by a short stop. These six players make up the infield.
A baseball game is nine innings long. Each inning lasts until both players
make three outs while playing defense. When on offense, a run is scored by
a player reaching first base, second base, third base, and home plate.
When a ball is hit over the fence on a fly it is called a homerun. When
someone hits a homerun all of the runners on base including the batter
automatically score a run.
