World War two started when Adolph Hitler (above) choose to invade and conquer Poland. His troops marched in on September first 1939. There was a very small bit of resistance because the Polish had a small army. All the Jews were rounded up and ether sent to concentration camps or forced to live in the ghetto first. After they arrived at the camps they were split up into groups. These groups determined if you were strong enough to work in the camps or just put to death. Hitler treated the Jews horribly and gave them very little food.
On the other side of the world the Japanese were getting ready for there attack on the U.S. They were preparing to bomb Pearl Harbor, a new American navel base. They planed there attack many days before it actually took place, but due to weather complications it was delayed.
