The Isle of Besaid is the southernmost
piece of land in the world of Spira. The small island is bathed in
perpetual warmth all year long and the sun shines overhead all day.
However, very few people live on Besaid Island. This island does
have a blitzball team, but they have not won a victory in over twenty
years. Besaid temple is home to the Valefor aeon. |
|
|
Kilika Island is located not so far
north of Besaid. The island is made up entirely of jungle, in which
Kilika temple where the Ifrit aeon is located is in. The town of
Kilika is located over's the island's beaches on the southern coast and
over the ocean, making it much like a port. Kilika also has a
blitzball team, the Kilika Beasts. |

Luca is the largest city on Spira.
It is mainly a tourist spot, but the population there is very large as
well. Luca has many tourist attractions, but its main one is the
only blitzball stadium on Spira. Here is where a tournament is held
each year to decide which team will bring home the cup. Luca boasts
perhaps the best blitzball team in the game's history, the Luca Goers, who
have remained undefeated in the tournament for many years. |

Mi'ihen Highroad is a long, wide dirt
path that stretches all the way from Luca to Djose. The brief history
of the Highroad is that when the Crusaders were called the Scarlet
Knights, their leader Mi'ihen walked down this long path before being
tried. |
|

|
This is the minute town located at the
end of the Mi'ihen Highroad. It is located in swampy caverns, the
the area is frequently tormented by thunderstorms (rumor has it that this
is because of the temple's fayth). The few homes in Djose are built
in the cavern walls that surround Djose temple, which houses the Ixion
aeon. |
|

|
Another well-known tourist attraction,
Moonflow isn't actually a place at all. Instead it is a long path
that cuts through a forest along the western coastline. Why such a
popular attraction, you ask? The sea located along the coast is home
to hundreds of pyreflies that make a breathtaking sight, especially at
night. |
|

|
Guadosalam is home to the
demi-human Guado tribe. Like Djose, this town is built inside the walls of
caverns. Guadosalam also harbors the Farplane within its walls,
which is where Spira's dead go. However, not many are admitted
there. Guadosalam also has a blitzball team, the Guado Glories. |
|

|
The Thunder Plains are a long strech
of land that is frequently tormented by lightning strikes. Not many
venture through here, even though lightning towers have been constructed
to attract the dangerous bolts of electricity away from travelers. |
|

|
Macalania is built on a great frozen
lake (which is supposedly because of the temple's fayth). Barely a
person lives there because the temperature is nearly unbearable. |
|

|
Bikanel Island is a large triangular
island located to the far west of Spira. The island is made up
entirely of desert and constantly bathed in the hot sun, which is why the
island was never settled. However, the Al Bhed 'Home' is located
here and they have thrived on the ilsand for decades. Their
blitzball team, the Al Bhed Psyches, are from this place. |
|

|
The capitol of Yevon, Bevelle is the
second largest city on Spira next to Luca. This is where all of
Yevon's maester's live, including the Grand Maester. Many come here
each year, but it is not as much of an attraction as other locales.
Bevelle temple houses the Bahamut aeon. |
|

|
The Calm Lands got their name because
the summoners of old planned to have a final battle with Sin here.
The rolling green hills are a breathtaking sight, but for whatever reason
not many come here. Two temples were once located here (Remiem and
another whose name has been long forgotten), but are no longer used on the
summoner's pilgrimage. |
|

|
The snow-covered peak of Mt. Gagazet
is home to the large, lion-like Ronso tribe. The mountains
surrounding the mountain are treachorous, and many have perished
there. In the caverns of Gagazet, a fayth is rumored to be located,
but no one claims to have actually seen it...The blitzball team the Ronso
Fangs are from here. |
|

|
The final spot on the summoner's
pilgrimage, Zanarkand was once a beautiful city filled with machina -
machines. The city now lies in ruins as proof of Sin's power.
Only summoner's are allowed to enter these ruins, and the rest of the
world is left to wonder what is up there... |
