Figure Skating is among the most popular winter sports in many countries around the world.  Although in the past, women were banned form competing, they have rapidly taken over the sport.  Skating superstars come from all over the world, and their ages get younger each year.  On average, more women become young skating superstars then men, who become great later on in their career.  This is because they are more flexible and often have more endurance.

From sit spins and layback spins, which can be mastered at a young age, to the complicated axels, loops, and Lutz's, figure skating is a sport that requires grace, flexibility,  and most of all, commitment.  Skating at a young age is an advantage that can't be overlooked.  The sooner you start and the more you practice, the greater you'll be.
