1.  Turn on the console using the MAIN POWER switch on the back of the console.  The standby indicator on the front of the console lights red to indicate that the console is now in standby mode.

2.  Press the Standby/RESET button.  The standby indicator turns green and the start up screen appears.

3.  Plug the analog controller (DUALSHOCK 2) or analog controller (DUALSHOCK) into the console.

4.  Press the open button.  The disk tray opens.

5.  Place a disc on the disc tray with the label side facing up (data side down).

6.  Press the open button again.  The disc tray closes.  The game is ready to begin.
